About Our Modivation

This whole idea of 'Bows for Babies' started when Carmen read Kay Bratt's book, Silent Tears: A Journey Of Hope In A Chinese Orphanage. As most people know, in China there is a one-child limit. Something that most people don't realize is that any sort of medical problem children are born with, or the just the fact that they are female, could make them end up in an orphanage because most Chinese parents want a healthy baby for one, but even more commonly, they want a boy to carry on the family name, and provide for the parents in their old age. I (Carmen) told Megan all about these facts and Megan wanted to help too. We tried to figure out a way to raise money for these children, when we came up with the idea for "Bows for Babies". We are now making and selling hair bows, blankets, and other items to help these children. We are sending ALL (100%) of the money we make to the China Care Foundation (www.chinacare.org), so that they can get it to the children that need it most. We really hope that you will help us to raise money for these helpless children.
